Infamous: Second Son Review

Infamous: Second Son secured itself as one of my top 10 favorite games of all time almost directly after my first playthrough. I felt more obligated to buy it and reasonably enjoy it rather than genuine excitement when it was announced. But Second Son resonated with me on almost every level, and I connected to the majority of it personally, playing as honest and true as I would if I were put into the same situations that the game presents to the player.

In a world, based on our own (the game actually takes place in a mirror image of Seattle), there are two types of people; the ones like you and me, and Conduits. Conduits are, as the name would heavily imply, people who can harness the power of every day elements in a super human way. The player takes control of Delsin Rowe, a smart mouthed teenager with a penchant for getting into trouble. Delsin finds out his ability is actually the capacity to copy and store other conduit's super powers, which makes for quite an opening.

Super Mario 3D World Review

Finally something bright, colorful, and not too hard enters my home. With our spontaneous purchase of a Wii U a few weeks back, we decided it'd be criminal to not get a Mario game to go with it. I'm very glad that we decided on this one. Super Mario 3D World is, as the name would imply, a 3D Platformer set in the Mario universe. It's constantly radiating a happy tone, which is infectious especially when playing with friends. Despite a few key gameplay frustrations, gamers who have been accumulating dark, and gritty games finally have something to play with the family.

It's a Mario game, so Bowser stole something, and the entirety of the game is spent getting it back and taking him down. At least this time, he stole some fairies and not the Princess Peach. The premise is hardly anything different than what we're used to, but for the sake of this particular series, why deviate from the norm? So, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad are all on a mission to save some tool-wi…

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Review

Released: August 21, 2012 Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC Players: 1 local, 1-12 Mulitplayer ESRB Rating: T for: Animated Blood Violence
Publisher: Activision
Developer: High Moon Studios
Transformers, the famous Robots in Disguise, haven't had the best of luck in the world of video games. Years of crappy, mostly movie tie-in games ruined the franchise's credibility and left millions of fans disappointed. Suddenly Transformers meets High Moon Studios and the start of a beautiful relationship was lovingly formed in Transformers: War for Cybertron. War for Cybertron (hereafter referred to as War) not only provided a prequel for the events that fans have been following since 1985 but also gave us a solid, non movie tie-in Transformers game that starred your favorites. Fall of Cybertron takes what War did right and improves it.
Fall of Cybertron begins with The Ark in a race to a collapsing space bridge. When the Decepticons attack it's up to Bumblebee to get systems back online and s…

Warframe Review

Free to Play games don't have to be the double-edged sword people make them out to be anymore. In fact, in this game, everything you can pay money for can be obtained in-game, with the exception of three Warframes that are exclusive to a very costly premium package. Don't let that fool you, the developers do want your money and are willing to give you most of anything for dropping five bucks here and there - but with a medium grind you can unlock, build, and craft any weapon, Warframe, or Mod.

I need to come out and say this: I enjoy Warframe more than I should. It is for this reason that I have purchased about $50 worth of content, and never looked back. I'm not ashamed in it at all. For a little less than a full priced game, I now have the tools to play the game anyway I could dream of, and I got to support a developer who has made me helplessly addicted to its product. Did my spending affect how fun I saw the game? Not at all. No matter what loadout you choose, includi…
